Good Less Expensive Radio
I have had this radio for a week now and used it on 1 trip, so far so good. Install was a snap once I got the right wiring harness for my 2001 Silverado. I have played dvd's in it and they look and sound good.
The Bluetooth works great. It has connected every time to my phone when I start my truck and phone quality sounds good. The input switching on this unit is automatic when it comes to the Bluetooth. When ever something plays from my phone, whether it is phone calls or music, the radio automatically switches to the Bluetooth and back to the mode I had it in once it is done. This is great most of the time. The only time it is annoying is when travelling and streaming Pandora and you lose internet. It auto switches to radio which is at a different volume level.. there have been a few times when I went out of town last week where I was surprised by the radio blasting away because I didn't have the audio levels set very high when streaming Pandora.

On the front of the BV7942 is an input labeled "AUX," which allows the input of audio signals from MP3 players, smartphones, and portable music players using a cable with two 3.5mm male audio plugs.
Important: Please note that this feature is not the same as the "Full iPod Control." This feature will only allow you to control your music and video by clicking on the designated buttons via the face or front side of your unit.

Switchable US & Europe Tuner Frequencies
If you happen to take the BV7942 outside of the U.S., you are able to pick up European frequencies so that you can enjoy your music abroad as well.
RDS Tuner
The Radio Data System allows FM broadcasters to send more than an analog audio signal out over the airwaves. Using a 57 kHz "subcarrier," stations can transmit digital RDS data – depending on what the broadcaster transmits and what your tuner can pick up, you can receive information such as the name of the artist/song, name of the station, genre, traffic information, and more.

The BV7942 offers four channels that can be used to hook up four speakers. Typically though, it is a much better practice to have an amplifier running your system.
