Good Humminbird Flasher
I have ice fished for about 25 years and found that a flasher is essential to success in locating and fine tuning presentation to fish below the ice. I have owned the ICE-45 for one year. Based on my own research and bait shop recommendations, I chose the ICE-45 to replace my Vexilar FL-8
Good Points -
- The sweeping dial around the unit is large and easy to read. The colors are clear in daylight or darkness of the shanty. The LCD middle with depth and adjustable depth gauge around the dial makes this unit easier to operate the constantly converting 1x/2x/etc on the Vexilar.
- The sonar capabilities were adequate for my uses. I was able to separate fish and lure and also determine bottom types (i.e. hard or soft). The adjustments to gain allow fine tuning to read what's down there. I find that using a flasher is a game of continuous adjustment to achieve the best results, however if you don't see any fish there are probably not fish down there. Nothing...
