Works well with the 436hp. Mine did come with the "gps accessory cable" that is a male 9 pin to the gps/serial port on the 436hp and 396xt. So you shouldn't need to get the cable elsewhere or use the 396xt cable with a null modem adapter. This makes it a pretty good deal compared to other units.
